WSU Goes Online

What does that mean for me?

You're safer to live here

    1. How to stop the spread of coronavirus:
        • Wear a cloth face mask covering your mouth and nose.
        • Practice 6-feet of social distancing at all times.
        • Disinfect objects and surfaces.
        • Do not touch your face.
        • Cover coughs with a tissue.
        • Wash your hands and use alcohol-based sanitizer.
        • Stay home if you feel sick, except to get medical care.
        • Strictly follow CDC guidelines found here: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html
    2. We are working with a company called Aerifysolutions to deep clean to stop the spread
        • “Our highly specialized process disinfects up to 99% of your environment with an EPA-registered solution for use against SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. We then apply an antimicrobial coating that protects against any new microorganisms including bacteria and viruses from surviving on the surface for up to 30 days.”
    3. Living away from at-risk individuals decreases the risk of exposure.
    4. Whitman County only has 83 confirmed cases of Covid-19, which is the second lowest in the state of Washington and makes up for just .15% of all cases in the state.

You'll do better academically

    1. Living at the Ruckus will increase your academic and social success! It will also provide a safe and focused learning environment for online learning!
    2. “Many traditional four-year colleges have a strong foundation in campus culture. And experts worry that missing out can be detrimental to a student’s academic and social success.”
    3. “Schools provide critical services that help meet the needs of [students], especially those who are disadvantaged, through supporting the development of social and emotional skills, creating a safe environment for learning, identifying and addressing neglect and abuse, fulfilling nutritional needs, and facilitating physical activity.”

You'll have a better (more fun) college experience

    1. It’s very hard to have the entire college experience if you’re not living close to campus.
    2. Let’s face it, you’re going to have way more fun living at the Ruckus than you would living in your mother’s basement.
