When can residents move in?

Most move-ins take place in August.  Please call the Leasing Office at 509.332.6814 if you have a different move-in date.

When can residents start receiving mail and packages?

As soon as they have signed a lease and are living on the property.

What are the requirements to be able to live at The Ruckus?

General guidelines require either a Guarantor or proof that you make three times the total monthly rent. We also consider I-20’s as income proof. Please contact the Leasing Office at 509.332.6814 for additional details. We do not accept Comprehensive Reusable Tenant Screening Reports as defined by and pursuant to RCW 59.18.

Is there a convenient way to get to campus?

We are about a 15-minute walk to campus or a 5-minute drive. We are also right next to the Express Bus Route stops. The Express Bus comes every 7-8 minutes during the school year.

What is the best way to get around campus and Pullman?

There is an Express Bus Route that goes right to the WSU Campus. Other bus routes go around Pullman.

Are the apartments furnished?

We do offer furnished units for an additional fee.  Contact us for more details.

Are utilities included? What are the costs?

We charge a flat rate of $65 for water and electric. There are no caps. $15 for internet and cable. The total monthly fixed cost is $80. Certain floorplans such as the Super Studio Suites, three and four bedroom apartments may be running a promotion with all-inclusive rates, where the utility, internet and cable fees are already included in the total rental amount. Call for more information to see if that promotion is still available. You do not have to worry about transferring any utility accounts into your name since the accounts will be managed and paid by the landlord directly on your behalf.

How are roommates picked and when do students get these results?

You are able to lease with your roommates if you prefer. If you would like to just lease a bedroom, we would have you fill out our Roommate Matching Survey and match you with roommates!

Can friends room together? How?

Absolutely! Just let us know upon reserving your room who you’d like to room with, and we’ll make it happen!

Are there laundry facilities?

There is no need for laundry facilities or lugging your clothes to the laundromat. Every unit at The Ruckus comes equipped with a washer and dryer so you can do your laundry right at home.

Can residents have overnight guests?

Yes! We have guest parking permits available for overnight guests. Your guest cannot stay for more than three (3) consecutive nights without being added to your lease.

Can students bring a car and is parking available?

We have a ton of on-site parking available. It is first-come-first-serve and we do require parking permits. There is a limit of 1 per leaseholder.

Are pets allowed in the apartments?

We are a pet friendly community. A max of 2 pets are allowed in apartments. There are only a few dog breed restrictions, but no weight limit for pets. Call our office if you’re curious about bringing your pet!

How do I pay rent?

You can make payments with personal checks, money orders, or by debit or credit card! These payments can be paid in the office, over the phone, or online!

Can students cancel their contracts during the academic year?

We do not allow you to break your lease contract. We do allow you to find someone to take over your lease! The person taking over would just have to go through the same application process that you did when you reserved your apartment!

When will I know where I will be living?

Your leasing agent will contact you as soon as an apartment becomes available that matches your preferences!

Do I need rental insurance for my personal belongings?

Yes. We do not maintain insurance to cover your personal property or personal injury. You are required to purchase and maintain renter’s insurance and personal liability protection prior to moving into the apartment. Residents are automatically enrolled into our master insurance policy at a cost of $25 per month in the event proof of insurance is not provided by the starting date of the lease.

When will I know if I am assigned an apartment?

Your leasing agent will contact you once you are assigned to an apartment!

Can I see an apartment prior to moving in?

Absolutely! Just contact the leasing office to get a tour scheduled!

When is rent due?

Rent is due in full at time of move-in, or if you wish to do monthly payments, rent is due the 1st of each month.

What is the deposit amount?

We have a $300 refundable security deposit.

Who should I contact if I have a maintenance problem?

During office hours you are welcome to stop by the office or call in to place a service request. In the case of an emergency after hours, please call the emergency hotline!

Who do I contact if I lock myself out of my apartment?

During office hours you are welcome to stop by the office to pick up a spare key! After hours, please call the emergency hotline!

I'm in my first year at WSU, do I have to live on campus?

As a freshman this year you can live off-campus.
